Description of the Presentation:

Would you be hired by your employees?

This is a question that every leader should ask themselves on a daily basis? If your employees were seeking to fill your position today, do your actions demonstrate that you are the right person for the job?

Successful organizations understand the importance of developing a culture based on strongly held and widely shared set of beliefs that demonstrate and support the values and goals of the organization. The people in leadership roles take responsibility for living the culture and communicating clearly with staff about the priorities of the company thereby adhering to clear strategies for how the values will be exhibited in all interactions.

Employees admire leaders who consistently demonstrate a value based organizational approach thus these leaders would be who employees would hire. Effective leaders understand the diversity and complexity of the workforce and realize that transformational leaders proactively assess how their intent and actions impact those they lead.

Leaders have an obligation to see the world from a broader perspective, but many of leaders either have limited knowledge or have had a limited view about what it means to lead. It is every leaders job to be the caretaker for the organizations we lead, as well as, to take care of the people we lead so that they would want to hire us.

Key “take-aways” for the Presentation

  • Self- Assessment for leaders to determine if they are transformational leaders and if there is a gap in their interactions and impact on the organizations value-based approach
  • Review strategies for decreasing gaps on how leadership is helping or hindering performance
  • Identify actions that can be getting in the way and what to do to change these actions
  • Examine strategies for leaders to improve communication, and positively build trust as they take care of the employees and are care-takers of the organization, so that the employees would see the leaders value and want to hire them.
