Presented By:

Connie Chiara

President & CEO Corporate Benefit Partners

Description of the Presentation:

Since 1999 health insurance premiums have increased a whopping 213%.  In 2016, the average premium for a group health insurance plan was $11,484.  Each year employers face difficult decisions on balancing the cost of coverage with their desire to attract and retain quality employees.  Taking advantage of our market driven system is one part of the solution.

On average, 49% of Americans receive their health insurance coverage from the workplace.  In Florida, we provide coverage to only 39% of our population.  Health insurance is costly and for many employers it is the single most expensive budget item next to employee wages.   In this workshop, Connie will help the attendees to understand how the marketplace really works and give HR Professionals the tools they need to communicate this information effectively to the C-Suite.

Key “take-aways” for the Presentation

  •  Understand what health care costs and how it compares to other financial interests.
  • Know who the insurance industry players are and how they compete for your business.
  • How to leverage the insurance marketplace for the best possible price

“Leadership Is A Marathon: How To Stay Motivated As A Leader”

Matt Jones

Keynote Motivational Speaker and Author

Matt Jones, went from being a three-time cancer conqueror, to relearning how to walk, to surviving a bone marrow transplant, to completing seven marathons on seven continents and yes that includes Antarctica!

In a recent survey 75% of respondents said their company is chronically short of leadership talent (War of Talent).  Being an effective leader like a marathon is an endurance event.  Matt’s talk, “Leadership is a Marathon” provides principles that leaders can use to empower, energize, and inspire themselves in order to do the same for those they lead.

Matt uses his experience of running a marathon as a metaphor to share leadership strategies learned through personal experiences and graduate work in Transformational Leadership

Key “take-aways” for the Presentation:

Þ The four characteristics that REAL leaders practice

Þ How to have a greater influence and impact on those you lead

Þ Renewed passion for leading others

Þ The number quality of leadership
